Our Commitment
Famous Cricketers is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.
Conformance Status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone. We view compliance with these guidelines as an ongoing effort and are continuously working to improve.
Accessibility Features
Famous Cricketers includes the following accessibility features:
- Skip Navigation Links: A "Skip to main content" link is provided at the top of every page, allowing keyboard users to bypass the navigation and jump directly to the main content.
- Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML5 semantic elements (header, nav, main, footer, section, article) to provide meaningful structure for assistive technologies.
- ARIA Labels: Interactive elements include appropriate ARIA attributes to convey their purpose and state to screen readers.
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard, and focus indicators are clearly visible.
- Colour Contrast: We maintain sufficient colour contrast ratios between text and backgrounds to ensure readability for users with low vision or colour deficiencies.
- Responsive Design: Our website is fully responsive and works across all device sizes, from mobile phones to large desktop monitors.
- Breadcrumb Navigation: Every page includes breadcrumb navigation with proper ARIA markup, helping users understand their location within the site hierarchy.
- Data Tables: Statistical tables include proper headers, scope attributes, and data-label attributes for mobile accessibility.
- Structured Data: JSON-LD structured data helps search engines and assistive technologies understand our content.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, some areas of the site may have limitations. We are actively working to identify and address any accessibility barriers. Known areas under improvement include:
- Some older content may not yet have been fully updated to meet current standards
- Third-party embedded content may not fully meet our accessibility standards
